Tool one: a public price list
Our prices are posted, so you can quote a job before you ever call us. Prices per yard, picked up or delivered: double screened topsoil 50 dollars, garden mix 50 to 60 dollars, top dressing mix 50 dollars, bark mulch 55 dollars, mushroom manure 50 to 55 dollars, road base gravel 50 to 55 dollars. We also carry sand and gravel, screened peat moss, landscape and decorative rock, and paving stones. Delivery in Richmond starts at 75 dollars. Bob or Jeff confirm the final quote and the delivery day.
Tool two: split loads
Two materials, one truck, one delivery charge to split between them. Topsoil and bark mulch for a planting job, road base and sand for a base and bedding job, garden mix and manure for beds. Split loads suit the small and mid sized jobs where a full load of one material is too much and two delivery trips eat the margin. Tell us the split when you order and we load so the first material off is the one your crew needs first.

Measure the area in feet, decide the depth in inches, and the calculator on our site gives you the yards to order, with the material price beside it. It ends the guesswork on mulch and topsoil quantities that leaves crews short on a Friday afternoon. Machine time when a job needs it
Bobcat and backhoe work with an operator, by the hour or by the job, with our trucks hauling material in and spoil out. Excavation, drainage, turf installation, and yard rebuilds are quoted by Bob or Jeff once they see the site or clear photos of it.
A short fall stocking note
- Book road base and drainage material before the heavy rain, when every yard in the region wants it at once
- Keep garden mix and mushroom manure moving for fall bed work and lawn repair while soil is warm
- Bark mulch demand rises as strata and retail clients refresh beds in October and November
- Send us a site address and photos for machine work and we will price it without a site visit in most cases
